The DLR-Institute of Engineering Thermodynamics is active in the fields of renewable energy research and technology development for efficient and low emission energy conversion and utilization with two sections and around 75 persons.

More than 32000 standards in catalogue, 200 national technical committees and 150 responsibilities (chairpersons, secretariats, convenors) in international standardization committees are a sample of the experience developed as national standards body during more than 30 years.

The operator therefore has the added benefit of having a single point of contact at every stage of the project, including detailed consultation, comprehensive vehicle care and an after-sales, maintenance and repair service which are tailored to the customer’s needs.
It also offers constant updates to the in-built systems to respond effectively to the challenge of maximising the service life of each vehicle, thereby optimising the value of its assets. And a customizable fleet management system which, in addition to comprehensive monitoring of costs and efficiency, offers the possibility of optimizing the performance and profitability of each fleet and safety while driving can be provided.

These two commitments place it among the Spanish universities with the greatest research activity and first in the capture of external resources in a competitive regime.

ABEE is supporting the industry in development of tailored made solutions from battery materials to recycling for automotive and stationary applications through development of dedicated multiscale simulation tools and functions embedded in different platforms. In addition, ABEE is setting up state of the art battery manufacturing infrastructures and battery system design platforms. In this regard, ABEE will have by end of 2019 the state-of-the-art electrode processing pilot line for advanced Li-ion, solid state batteries (oxide and sulfide) and innovative solutions for LiM coating. ABEE pilot line will be integrated within an unique dry room of 150m2 with dew point of – 60°C.
Further, ABEE has extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of artificial intelligence techniques, state estimations for batteries and process modelling..
