DEFACTO at InterPore2021

Dr Martin Lautenschlaeger, from the Institute of Engineering Thermodynamics at the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt –DLR), has presented some of the battery systems simulation work, based on the Lattice Boltzmann method, that he carried out in the framework of the DEFACTO Project at the InterPore2021 event on June 1, 2021.

The event was held online and structured in several mini-symposia oral presentations revolving around electrochemical processes in porous media. There, Dr. Martin Lautenschlaeger showcased the Lattice Boltzmann simulations as a powerful and efficient tool for the investigation of mesoscopic processes and how the results are especially useful for optimizing the electrolyte filling process which is a time-determining step in battery production.

The International Society for Porous Media Conference (InterPore2021) celebrates a yearly event where a community with members from academia and industry worldwide expands and disseminates knowledge for understanding, describing, and modelling natural and industrial porous media systems.
