THE DEFACTO PROJECT IN THE MATERIALS SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING CONGRESS

On September 27-29, our partners from the German Aerospace Center (DLR) Benjamin Kellers and Martin Lautenschlaeger as well as Shahbaz Ahmed from Fraunhofer ITWM attended the Materials Science and Engineering Congress (MSE 2022) in Germany.

During these days, Benjamin, Martin and Shahbaz had the opportunity to present the DEFACTO project in a set of different talks and sessions. On the one hand, Martin gave a presentation about the microstructure-resolved battery simulation using the Lattice Boltzmann method. On the other hand, Benjamin’s talk was revolving around the modelling two-phase flow in energy storage by a lattice Boltzmann-coupled pore network model.

The biannual MSE is one of the largest English-speaking congresses in the field of Material Science and Engineering in Europe. MSE has become an international platform for materials science and engineering experts to present their research to a large international community and network across borders.
