DEFACTO holds its fifth General Assembly meeting in Madrid, Spain

On June 22-23, the DEFACTO consortium members held its fifth General Assembly in a hybrid format in Madrid, Spain hosted by the Polytechnic University of Madrid to analise and present the work carried out during the last year.

During the first day, most of the technical work packages were presented. In the first place, the coordinator entity CIDETEC presented the general performance of the project as well as an overview of the upcoming actions and milestones. In addition to this session, several partners involved in the technical development explained their contributions and progress in the framework of:

  • Testing and analytical tools and characterization.
  • Modelling and simulation of electrode processing.
  • Modelling and simulation of cell performance and ageing mechanisms.

The first day concluded with a tour of two labs: the Spanish User Support and Operations Centre (E-USO) and the University Institute of Microgravity Ignacio da Riva where the consortium had the opportunity to visit some of the innovations developed in this institution such as a wind tunnel, a vacuum chamber and a satellite vibration testing machine.

On the second day, the consortium members could have parallel sessions and some discussions with the aim of minimizing potential risks and finishing some of the work packages such as:

  • Modelling and simulation of electrode processing.
  • Optimization and sensitivity analysis.
  • Cell prototyping, validation and improvement.
  • Dissemination, exploitation and standardization activities.

It was a great experience for all the partners to meet finally face-to-face after the kick-off meeting. The consortium established great synergies, and collaborations and they could plan future actions for the DEFACTO project.
